Laboratory-scale hybrid rocket motor uncertainty analysis

Journal of Propulsion and Power, 1996
Laboratory-scale hybrid rocket motors often provide the means to evaluate the burning rates of new fuel formulations. While the issue of scaling to larger sizes can be significant, the uncertainty level of the laboratory-scale results also needs evaluation.

Work In Progress: This is Rocket Science: Development and Testing of a Hybrid Rocket Motor in a Rocket Propulsion Course

Proceedings. Frontiers in Education. 36th Annual Conference, 2006
This paper describes a unique design and laboratory experience that was incorporated into an introductory rocket propulsion course. Specifically, each student team designed, built and tested a 7 lbf thrust hybrid rocket motor. The thrust chambers were fabricated from aluminum and the nozzles were fabricated from graphite.

Eco-Friendly Propellant for Hybrid Rocket Motor

2018
Conventional propulsion systems mostly based on the propellants which are highly toxic in nature. In a single rocket, the amount of such propellant is generally hundreds of tons. When this huge amount of propellant burnt, it develops a large amount of unburnt particles as well as gases which damage the ecosystem.

Development of a combustion visualisation hybrid rocket motor

2017
The Phoenix Hybrid Sounding Rocket Programme in the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Mechanical Engineering department has so far only utilised pure paraffin wax and nitrous oxide as the propellant combination in their hybrid rockets. Knowledge of regression rate behaviour is required for the design and performance characterisation of hybrid rocket ...
