Conjugated polymer–nanocrystal composites are investigated to develop fast, high‐yield green scintillators. The polymer F8BT enables efficient, ultrafast emission, while blends with non‐emitting HfO2 nanocrystals and luminescent CdZnS/ZnS quantum dots reveal distinct sensitization mechanisms.

Hybrid Systems and Hybrid Computation 1st Part: Hybrid Systems
Numerical Algorithms, 2003In the first part of this paper we will give a short historical survey of the field of hybrid systems, a precise definition of a hybrid system and some comments on the definition. In a second paper (“Hybrid systems and hybrid computation – 2nd part: Hybrid computation”) we will concentrate on a particular aspect of the theory closely related to ...

Observability for hybrid systems
42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37475), 2004The notion of generic final-state asymptotically determinable hybrid system is introduced. Then, sufficient conditions for a linear hybrid system to be generic final-state asymptotically determinable are given. These conditions show that generic final-state asymptotic determinability can be verified even if each of the continuous subsystems of the ...

Abstract This work proposes the first steps for studying resilient control for uncertain hybrid systems. We take a rather radical approach and consider the situations of severe uncertainty. This requires the replacement of classical Kolmogorov probabilities with special concepts from the generalized measure theory.
