Low-Defect Bulk-Germanium-on-Insulator Photodetectors with Resonant Cavity Enhancement at 1550 nm for High-Resolution SWIR Imaging

open access: yesNanomaterials
High-resolution short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging requires photodetectors (PDs) with simultaneously low dark current and high responsivity. To achieve this goal, we demonstrate low-defect bulk germanium-on-insulator (bulk-GeOI) PDs designed for enhanced

Distribution Strategy Optimization of Standalone Hybrid WT/PV System Based on Different Solar and Wind Resources for Rural Applications

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
The characteristics of solar and wind energy determine that the optimization of a standalone hybrid wind turbine (WT)/photovoltaic panel (PV) system depends on the natural resources of the installation location.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Effect of periodic backwash in the submerged membrane adsorption hybrid system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The submerged membrane adsorption hybrid system (SMAHS) is an attractive solution in treating wastewater; however it faces membrane fouling although to a less extent.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

A stochastic hybrid control law for a localization task based on active sensing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
openA localization task by a mobile agent is considered, where the sensing and the motion actions are performed exclusively with respect to each other, meaning that sensing the target is not available during the agent movement. To formalize this scenario
