Nowadays, everybody knows what a hybrid car is. A hybrid car normally has two engines to enhance energy efficiency and reduce CO2 output. Similarly, a hybrid brain-computer interface (BCI) is composed of two BCIs, or at least one BCI and another system.

Comparative chromosome band mapping in primates byin situ suppression hybridization of band specific DNA microlibraries [PDF]
A DNA-library established from microdissected bands 8q23 to 8q24.1 of normal human chromosomes 8 (Lüdecke et al., 1989) was used as a probe for chromosomal in situ suppression (CISS-) hybridization to metaphase chromosomes of man and primates including ...

In contrast to previous efforts to model an individual's movement from wage work into entrepreneurship, we consider that individuals might transition incrementally by retaining their wage job while entering into self-employment. We show that these hybrid entrepreneurs represent a significant share of all entrepreneurial activity.

Fluorescence in situ hybridization of YAC clones after Alu-PCR amplification [PDF]
Alu-PCR protocols were optimized for the generation of human DNA probes from yeast strains containing yeast artificial chromosomes (YACs) with human inserts between 100 and 800 kb in size.

Characterization of two marker chromosomes in a patient with acute nonlymphocytic leukemia by two-color fluorescence in situ hybridization [PDF]
A patient with acute nonlymphocytic leukemia (ANLL), M5b according to French-American-British (FAB) classification, showed monosomy 16, an extra 1p−, and a 21q+. These derivative chromosomes could not be defined by GTG-banding.

Hybridization-Driven Adsorption of Polyadenine DNA onto Gold Nanoparticles
The attachment of functional DNA to gold nanoparticles via polyadenine adsorption is a well-established technology. This approach was mainly viewed through the lens of changing the DNA charge in order to reduce the electrostatic barrier created by a ...
