AbstractAutoradiography is used to detect and quantitate radioactive probe hybridized to cytological preparations. Autoradiographic film is used to detect 32P‐ or 35S‐labeled probe, and can be useful in experiments dealing with large organs or tissues. Emulsion autoradiography is required to obtain resolution at the level of a single cell.

Bioconjugate Chemistry, 1998A versatile method is described for preparing nonradioactive DNA probes for molecular hybridization. The method is based on the transamination reaction of double-stranded DNA with 4-aminooxybutylamine (ABA). To optimize the procedure for obtaining stable and sensitive hybridization probes, time of modification, pH, and reaction temperature were varied.
