Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Synthesis and Antiproliferative Activity of Novel Dehydroabietic Acid-Chalcone Hybrids
Dehydroabietic Acid (DHA, 1) derivatives are known for their antiproliferative properties, among others. In the context of this work, DHA was initially modified to two key intermediates bearing a C18 methyl ester, a phenol moiety at C12, and an acetyl or

Hybrid economics, hybrid politics, hybrid wars: communication and signs of hybridity
The subject of the study is an essence and sources of the concept of hybrid war, signs of hybridity. Topicality. In recent years, the Russian Federation has been waging a hybrid war against Ukraine. The source of hybrid wars is hybrid politics and hybrid economics.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Hybrid Porous Crystalline Materials from Metal Organic Frameworks and Covalent Organic Frameworks
Two frontier crystalline porous framework materials, namely, metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs), have been widely explored owing to their outstanding physicochemical properties. While each type of framework has its own

Abstract Advances in the field of plasmonics, i.e., nano-photonics exploiting the optical properties of metal nanostructures, paved the way for the development of ultrasensitive devices, including biological and various other sensors whose operation is based on the nanoscale localization of the electromagnetic field. However, the high

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...
