ABSTRACT This article explores the management adaptation strategies non‐governmental organizations (NGOs) managers employ in order to operate in repressive political environments. It answers the question: how do NGO managers initiate, manage and sustain internal change when the political/regulatory environment changes?

Thrombospondin Type-1 Repeat Domain-Containing Proteins Are Strongly Expressed in the Head Region of Hydra. [PDF]
The head region of Hydra, the hypostome, is a key body part for developmental control and the nervous system. We herein examined genes specifically expressed in the head region of Hydra oligactis using suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) cloning.

The controlled formation of defects in large‐area CVD‐grown hBN using various irradiation methods is demonstrated. Defect type and properties depend on particle type (He+, Ne+, Ar+, neutrons, and electrons), substrate effects, and film thickness.

Low Temperature MOCVD Synthesis of High‐Mobility 2D InSe
We report on the low‐temperature, wafer‐scale metal‐organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) growth of phase‐pure two‐dimensional indium selenide (InSe). By adjusting the Se/In ratio and temperature, we mapped In‐rich to Se‐rich InxSey phase space and identified the conditions that produce epitaxial, layered InSe. Structural and spectroscopic analyses

Wnt signaling determines body axis polarity in regenerating Hydra tissue
How an animal establishes its body axis is a fundamental question in developmental biology. The freshwater cnidarian Hydra is an attractive model for studying axis formation because it is radially symmetric, with a single oral-aboral axis.

ABSTRACT Biofouling on artificial surfaces in aquatic ecosystems leads to significant economic losses. Current antifouling paints, while effective, often harm the aquatic environment. This study explores ecologically safe antifouling alternatives derived from plants, focusing on the aquatic macrophytes Cabomba caroliniana (CC) and Schoenoplectus ...

Abstract In the summer of 1919, W. T. Goode, the Manchester Guardian’s special correspondent in Russia and the Baltic, was arrested in the Estonian capital Tallinn and briefly detained aboard a British warship. Goode's detention caused a furore, leading to accusations of kidnap, heated commentary in the press and questions in parliament.
