Modified Kozeny–Carmen correlation for enhanced hydraulic flow unit characterization

Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2011
Abstract Although several techniques have been proposed to predict permeability using porosity–permeability relationships, the Kozeny–Carmen (K–C) correlation is the most widely acceptable methodology in the oil industry. Amaefule et al. (1993) modified that correlation introducing the concept of Reservoir Quality Index (RQI) and Flow Zone Indicator (

Simulation of Position Control and Flow Rate Match of Integrated Hydraulic Actuator Unit

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
This paper presents a kind of all-digital integrated hydraulic actuator (IHA) unit to drive heavy load object without centralized oil tank. In order to improve the control quality of the actuation system while eliminating or reducing the disturbance, and also to solve the problem of flow rate mismatch existed in IHA with single-rod cylinder actuator, a

Application of hydraulic flow unit for prediction of flow zone in carbonate reservoir

Arabian Journal of Geosciences, 2021
The feasibility of oil production in any reservoir depends on the porosity and the permeability of that reservoir. Particularly, the permeability in the reservoir allows the ease of flow of fluid through it. High permeability is always desirable for the successful production of oil in any reservoir. The porosity and permeability depend on the reservoir

Flow-Based Determination of Hydraulic Units

Proceedings of EUROPEC/EAGE Conference and Exhibition, 2007
AbstractIt is common knowledge that the identification of hydraulic units is vital for the construction of reservoir simulation models that preserve dynamically relevant geological features from the underlying geological model. To date, both static-based and flow-based techniques were suggested for assessing hydraulic units. The static-based methods are

A New Approach in Permeability and Hydraulic-Flow-Unit Determination

SPE Reservoir Evaluation & Engineering, 2012
Summary Building an integrated subsurface model is one of the main goals of major oil and gas operators to guide the field-development plans. All field-data acquisitions from seismic, well logging, production, and geomechanical monitoring to enhanced-oil-recovery (EOR) operations can be affected by the accurate details incorporated in ...

Comparative hydraulics of a rectangular cross-flow rearing unit

Aquacultural Engineering, 1987
The cross-flow rearing unit described was designed to provide completely mixed flow reactor (CMFR) behavior in a standard rectangular vessel with little required tank modification. Water is distributed uniformly along one side of the vessel, via a manifold, and is collected in a drain gutter assembly running the length of the opposite side.
