Thermodynamic Determination of Power Loss in Hydraulic Components

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1973
The theory of a method, based on thermodynamics, for determining the power loss in hydraulic components is described. An experimental investigation of the method has been carried out on a hydrostatic pump with encouraging results. The major advantages of the method are that the measurements are simple and that no knowledge of the rate of flow or the ...

Fluid Loss from Hydraulically Induced Fractures

Journal of Petroleum Technology, 1970
Dynamic fluid loss tests provide the best method for simulating the fluid loss process during hydraulic fracturing. Through the use of these tests and a reasonable theoretical model for the rate of fracture growth, fracture length can be predicted with acceptable accuracy.

Uncertainty Evaluation of Hydraulic Losses in Closed Pipes

In a context where energy efficiency is a major concern, studying linear and local head-losses in hydraulic networks is essential. These losses are mainly caused by internal fluid friction and network singularities (such as bends, section changes, valves, etc.), have a direct impact on water transport efficiency and management.
