A power take-off and control strategy in a test wave energy converter for a moderate wave climate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The energy in the waves of oceans and seas can be converted to electricity by different types of Wave Energy Converters (WECs). Wave energy conversion is currently widely studied to contribute to the world’s rising energy needs.

A Comparison of Power Take-Off Architectures for Wave-Powered Reverse Osmosis Desalination of Seawater with Co-Production of Electricity

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Several power take-off (PTO) architectures for wave-powered reverse osmosis (RO) desalination of seawater are introduced and compared based on the annual average freshwater production and the size of the components, which strongly relate to the costs of ...

Discrete Displacement Hydraulic Power Take-Off System for the Wavestar Wave Energy Converter

open access: yesEnergies, 2013
The Wavestar Wave Energy Converter (WEC) is a multiple absorber concept, consisting of 20 hemisphere shaped floats attached to a single platform. The heart of the Wavestar WEC is the Power Take-Off (PTO) system, converting the wave induced motion of the ...

Monitoring of Riverine Aquatic Vegetation Using Satellite PlanetScope Imagery: Feasibility, Limitations and Prospects

open access: yesEcohydrology, Volume 19, Issue 1, January‐February 2026.
ABSTRACT Spectral interference induced by the water and the spatial resolution of many satellite images (≥ 10 m) limit the efficiency of remote sensing for monitoring riverine aquatic plant stands. In this study, the potential of using PlanetScope satellite images (3 m in spatial resolution, ~daily acquisition) for monitoring seasonal and interannual ...

Dry Reforming of Methane Over Ceria Supported Catalysts Produced by Direct Impregnation with Leachate Solution from Spent Diesel Auto‐Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 17, Issue 22, November 24, 2025.
The Pt‐containing leachate solution obtained by a hydrometallurgical recovery route of spent diesel oxidation catalysts was successfully used to fabricate Pt/CeO2 catalysts. Dry reforming of methane and reverse water gas shift tests showed good conversion efficiencies, with negligible carbon deposition after ToS experiments of several hours.
