Speed Compensation in Hydraulic Wind Turbine Control

2018 Global Fluid Power Society PhD Symposium (GFPS), 2018
The combination of hydraulic drivetrains and wind turbines impose control challenges due to their inherent dynamic behaviour. At the same time, the increase in system performance due to controller improvements causes a considerable impact on the turbine’s performance. In such wind turbines, the system is controlled through pressure.

Closed Hydraulic System for a Wind Turbine

Russian Engineering Research, 2021
An algorithm is proposed for calculating a closed hydraulic system consisting of a pump and a hydraulic motor. As an example, the hydraulic system of a wind turbine is considered. The calculation is based on the method used for the hydraulic system of mobile machines. The basic characteristics of the system components are analyzed.

Research on reducing flow shock of the digital hydraulic wind turbine

Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, 2023
The wind turbine with digital hydraulic transmission can make the corresponding hydraulic pump work according to the wind speed, so that the hydraulic wind turbine can maintain high efficiency at the whole working wind speed. However, the switching of different displacement hydraulic pumps will cause a large flow impact on the hydraulic system of the ...

Hydraulic Drive Trains in Wind Turbines for Rapidly Changing Strong Winds

ASME/BATH 2023 Symposium on Fluid Power and Motion Control, 2023
Abstract Wind energy is among the most important technologies for reducing our carbon footprint in the atmosphere. An analysis of the wind energy market over the last years shows a favor for wind turbine technology with a rather low nominal speed resulting in a frequent down-regulation or limitation of the harvested wind power by the ...
