Hydraulic servos with hydraulic-amplifier value
Electrical Engineering, 1953ELECTROHYDRAULIC SYSTEMS HAVE certain advantages over pure electromechanical systems which make them particularly suitable as an adjunct to electronic control for high-power-level actuation. Performance of a typical hydraulic servomechanism utilizing the Cornell Aeronautical Laboratories (CAL) transfer valve is illustrated in Figure 1.

After a short review of existing nuclear reactor pressure vessels and core geometry this chapter summarizes the main ideas on how to perform a thermohydraulic analysis of boiling flows in nuclear reactors. Remarkable is that all known threefluid flow patterns and heat transfer mechanisms create the cooling mechanism of the core.

Hydraulic Characteristics of Undular Hydraulic Jumps [PDF]
In open channels, the transition from a supercritical to subcritical flow (i.e. a hydraulic jump) is characterised by free-surface undulations develop downstream of the jump for low upstream Froude numbers. Such a hydraulic jump is called an undular jump.
