Hydrides in Liquid Chloroaluminates
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2007Infrared spectroscopy shows that CaH(2) in liquid 1-ethyl-3-methyl-1H-imidazolium chloroaluminates reduces the cation in Lewis basic systems, does not affect the neutral salt, and forms AlCl(3)H(-) and eventually allanes in Lewis acidic systems. The AlCl(3)H(-) species can be determined by UV-vis spectroscopy through its reaction with 2,3-dichloro-1,4 ...

AbstractSolid magnesium hydride [MgH2]∞ has been pursued as a potential hydrogen‐storage material. Organic chemists were rather interested in soluble magnesium hydride reagents from mid‐20th century. It was only in the last two decades that molecular magnesium hydride chemistry received a major boost from organometallic chemists with a series of ...

Hydriding combustion synthesis of Mg2Ni1−Fe hydride
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2005Abstract The hydriding combustion synthesis (HCS) of Mg 2 FeH 6 and Mg 2 Ni 1− x Fe x hydrides was systematically studied by changing the value of x from 0.25 to 1.0. This study aimed at improving the Mg 2 FeH 6 yield in production and examining the effect of the addition of nickel to the hydrogen storage properties of the Mg 2 FeH 6 hydride.

The Structure of Uranium Hydride
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 1948In this note we point out that consideration of the interatomic distances supports this proposal, and, moreover, leads to the conclusion that uranium hydride contains a new form of uranium, with small valence, similar to the low-valent forms of chromium and manganese previously reported.

The first fully structurally characterized ternary europium palladium hydrides (deuterides) are reported. The most Eu rich compound is Eu(2)PdD(4). Its beta-K(2)SO(4) type structure (space group Pnma, a = 749.47(1) pm, b = 543.34(1) pm, c = 947.91(1) pm, Z = 4) contains tetrahedral 18-electron [PdD(4)](4)(-) complex anions and divalent Eu cations.
