Adsorption‐Engineered Hydrocarbon Ionomers for Durable Proton‐Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells

Hydrocarbon ionomers suffer from oxidation‐driven interfacial degradation in PEM fuel cell cathodes, leading to catalyst instability. Here, adsorption‐engineered poly(fluorene) ionomers decouple interfacial anchoring from oxidative degradation, enabling strong catalyst–ionomer interactions while resisting electrochemical oxidation.

Sustainable Plant‐Based Water Repellent Coatings Using Hydrophobic Pine and Palm Pollen

A novel formulation strategy for creating superhydrophobic coatings using plant‐derived waxes and chemically treated pine and palm pollen. By employing acid modification, the hydrophobicity of the pollen surface is enhanced, resulting in water contact angles exceeding 150°.

Titanium‐Catalyzed Defluorination of Poly(Vinyl Fluoride) and Poly(Vinylidene Fluoride) Under Friedel–Crafts Conditions

Cationic titanium sandwich catalysts display exceptional activity in the hydrodefluorination of Csp3─F bonds, in the presence of silanes and aromatic solvents (turnover numbers up to 3000). As a result, they can be used to defluorinate challenging fluoropolymers, such as poly(vinyl fluoride) (PVF) or poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF).
