Trace chemical measurements from the northern midlatitude lowermost stratosphere in early spring: Distributions, correlations, and fate [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
In situ measurements of a large number of trace chemicals from the midlatitude (37-57°N) lower stratosphere were performed with the NASA DC-8 aircraft during March 1994.

A Methodology to Integrate Closed‐Cycle Heat Pumps into Batch Distillation Columns

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
Batch distillation often cannot use vapor recompression due to contamination risks in food and pharma. This study proposes a design for integrating closed‐loop heat pumps using natural fluids. Results show significant energy savings, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional setups.

C2-C10 hydrocarbon emissions from a boreal wetland and forest floor [PDF]

open access: yesBiogeosciences, 2006
Emissions of various C2-C10 hydrocarbons (VOCs) and halogenated hydrocarbons (VHOCs) from a boreal wetland and a Scots pine forest floor in south-western Finland were measured by the static chamber technique. Isoprene was the main non-methane hydrocarbon

Analysis of relative concentration of ethanol and other odorous compounds (OCs) emitted from the working surface at a landfill in China.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Estimating odor emissions from landfill sites is a complicated task because of the various chemical and biological species that exist in landfill gases.

Source origins, modeled profiles, and apportionments of halogenated hydrocarbons in the greater Pearl River Delta region, southern China [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We analyze 16-month data of 13 major halocarbons measured at a southern China coastal site in the greater Pearl River Delta (PRD). A total of 188 canister air samples were collected from August 2001 to December 2002.

Effect of HBr on Explosion Limits of Stoichiometric Hydrogen‐oxygen Mixture

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Kinetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This work, based on numerical simulations, discusses the effect of HBr as an inhibitor on the explosion limit of stoichiometric hydrogen‐oxygen gas mixture in a closed spherical vessel. The numerical simulation solves the complete governing equations for mass, momentum, species and energy.

Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry: Fundamental Principles, Diverse Applications, and the Latest Technological Frontiers

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The review examines the evolution of chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CI‐MS), a technique developed in 1966 by Field and Munson. CI is a soft‐ionization method that produces more intense molecular ions with less fragmentation than electron ionization (EI).

Prediction of the acentric factor of some halogenated hydrocarbons via group contribution techniques

open access: yesJournal of Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences
In this study, trends in the prediction of acentric factors of halogenated alkanes (HAs) were investigated using two group contribution techniques. The examination of discrepancies between predicted and experimental values for both methods served to ...

A screening method for ranking chemicals by their fate and behaviour in the environment and potential toxic effects in humans following non-occupational exposure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A large number of chemicals are released intentionally or unintentionally into the environment each year. These include thousands of substances that are currently listed worldwide and several hundred new substances added annually (Mücke et al., 1986 ...
