Using hydrochory for agricultural landscape revegetation
International audienceMaintaining biodiversity of spontaneous species in agricultural landscapes is a major challenge regarding the bundle of ecosystem services provided by them, such as preservation of water and soil resources.

Thermophilization: Concepts, Methods, and Implications of Changes in Community Composition due to Global Warming. [PDF]
As many species shift their geographic ranges coldward due to global warming, communities will undergo “thermophilization”—the increasing relative abundance of warm‐adapted (“thermophilic”) species and the concomitant decrease of cold‐adapted species over time.

Fossil seeds from the La Cantera Formation, Early Cretaceous, San Luis Province, Argentina
In a study of fossil seeds recovered from the La Cantera Formation, Early Cretaceous, San Luis Basin, we establish a new species, Carpolithus volantus, and describe other specimens attributed to Carpolithus spp. and Ephedra canterata.

Spatial patterns of water-dispersed seed deposition along stream riparian gradients. [PDF]
Riparian ecosystems along streams naturally harbour a high plant diversity with many increasingly endangered species. In our current heavily modified and fragmented catchments, many of these species are sensitive to dispersal limitation.

The geographical distribution of plants is influenced by macroclimate and dispersal limitations, which have led to lineage isolation and subsequent diversification within and across various environmental gradients.

Terrestrial vegetation has numerous positive effects on the main regulating services of agricultural channels, such as seed retention, pollutant mitigation, bank stabilization, and sedimentation, and this vegetation acts as a porous medium for the flow ...

Seed dispersal is crucial to gene flow among plant populations. Although the effects of geographic distance and barriers to gene flow are well studied in many systems, it is unclear how seed dispersal mediates gene flow in conjunction with interacting ...

Re-establishment of the genus Pseudalbizzia (Leguminosae, Caesalpinioideae, mimosoid clade): the New World species formerly placed in Albizia [PDF]
Following recent mimosoid phylogenetic and phylogenomic studies demonstrating the non-monophyly of the genus Albizia, we present a new molecular phylogeny focused on the neotropical species in the genus, with much denser taxon sampling than previous ...
