Comparative catalytic evaluation of nickel and cobalt substituted phosphomolybdic acid catalyst supported on silica for hydrodesulfurization of thiophene

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2017
Phosphomolybdic acid supported on silica (PMoA), and phosphomolybdic acid supported on silica substituted with nickel (Ni-PMoA), cobalt (Co-PMoA), are prepared with different loadings.

Extraction and Recovery of Metals from Spent HDS Catalysts: Lab- and Pilot-Scale Results of the Overall Process

open access: yesMetals, 2022
The present study proposes an overall recycling process for spent hydrodesulfurization (HDS) catalysts. The process put together stages already known in the technical literature, tested again with samples coming from the roasting stage in a pilot kiln ...

Investigation of Massive Catalyst based on Molybdenum Disulphide by Simultaneous Thermal Analysis and Mass Spectrometry Methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The paper presents the results of experimental studies of massive sulfide catalysts by simultaneous thermal analysis and mass spectrometry. It is found that the STA/MS methods are quite informative for testing the catalyst systems based on MoS2 and are ...

Engineering Ni–Mo–S Nanoparticles for Hydrodesulfurization [PDF]

open access: yesNano Letters, 2018
Nanoparticle engineering for catalytic applications requires both a synthesis technique for the production of well-defined nanoparticles and measurements of their catalytic performance. In this paper, we present a new approach to rationally engineering highly active Ni-Mo-S nanoparticle catalysts for hydrodesulfurization (HDS), i.e., the removal of ...

Effect of 2,6-Bis-(1-hydroxy-1,1-diphenyl-methyl) Pyridine as Organic Additive in Sulfide NiMoP/γ-Al2O3 Catalyst for Hydrodesulfurization of Straight-Run Gas Oil

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
The effect of 2,6-bis-(1-hydroxy-1,1-diphenyl-methyl) pyridine (BDPHP) in the preparation of NiMoP/γ-Al2O3 catalysts have been investigated in the hydrodesulfurization (HDS) of straight-run gas oil.

Olefin separation from FCC naphtha by deep eutectic solvents: PC‐SAFT modeling and molecular insights

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 72, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Olefin extractive separation from fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) naphtha with deep eutectic solvents (DESs) was systematically investigated in this work. In a first step, different DESs were screened for their separation performance of the binary mixture benzene/1‐hexene.

Size Effects of TiO2 Nanoparticles as Supports for W‐ and NiW‐Catalysts for Selective 3‐Methylthiophene Desulfurization

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 1, 15 January 2026.
Rounded TiO2 nanoparticles we sucesfully synthesized with modulated sizes from 109 to 22 nm. We observed the WS2 and NiWS active phases forming parallel slabs to the surface. The presence of Ni helped W to be better dispersed, especially on the smallest nanoparticles, which resulted in the highest activity detected among the series.
