Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Crystal Growth: A General Framework for Anisotropic Crystal Growth in Cu‐Based Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Growth (CMDLG) framework is established to rationalize the anisotropic growth of lead‐free perovskites. Integrating coordination chemistry with mass transport kinetics, this study theoretically derives and experimentally validates that stable iodocuprate complexes induce a diffusion‐limited regime.

AdS5–Schwarzschild deformed black branes and hydrodynamic transport coefficients

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2020
A family of deformed AdS5–Schwarzschild black branes is here derived, employing the membrane paradigm of AdS/CFT. The solution of the Einstein–Hilbert action, with the Gibbons–Hawking term and a counter-term that eliminates eventual divergences, yields a

On an exact hydrodynamic solution for the elliptic flow

open access: yes, 2009
Looking for the underlying hydrodynamic mechanisms determining the elliptic flow we show that for an expanding relativistic perfect fluid the transverse flow may derive from a solvable hydrodynamic potential, if the entropy is transversally conserved and

Hydrodynamic Coefficients for Suction Anchors During Installation Operations

open access: yesVolume 9: Offshore Geotechnics; Torgeir Moan Honoring Symposium, 2017
Increasing demands on economy in the offshore industry and extension to North Atlantic all-year operations bring along a requirement for more accurate numerical simulations of marine installation operations. These simulations will assess the necessary vessel and crane capacity and determine the limiting sea state for the installation.

Shaping of Biohybrid Functional Living Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a strategy for shaping living mycelium into functional materials by directing its natural growth. Nanoparticles armor hyphae, micron‐scale particles entangle within the network, and printed hydrogel architectures steer expansion, creating defined geometries.

The Experimental Identification of the Dynamic Coefficients of two Hydrodynamic Journal Bearings Operating at Constant Rotational Speed and Under Nonlinear Conditions

open access: yesPolish Maritime Research, 2017
Hydrodynamic bearings are commonly used in ship propulsion systems. Typically, they are calculated using numerical or experimental methods. This paper presents an experimental study through which it has been possible to estimate 24 dynamic coefficients ...

Photo‐Controlled Antibacterial Drug Release From DASA‐Coated Silica Particles for Improved Treatment of Wound Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Synthesis and characterization of light‐responsive donor–acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASA)‐coated chlorhexidine‐loaded silica nanoparticles. Such a controllable drug‐delivery system enables the release of the antimicrobial drug on demand and in consecutive cycles, thereby maintaining the concentration within the therapeutic window.

Hydrodynamic Modes for Granular Gases

open access: yes, 2003
The eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the linearized Boltzmann equation for inelastic hard spheres (d=3) or disks (d=2) corresponding to d+2 hydrodynamic modes, are calculated in the long wavelength limit for a granular gas.
