A Surface‐engineered Microfluidic Device for Antibody‐Mediated Negative Selection of High‐Quality Sperm for Assisted Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a microfluidic device with a functionalized surface utilizing a polyoxazoline coating and covalently immobilized gold nanoparticles and anti‐phosphatidylserine antibody. The device efficiently eliminates pre‐apoptotic and apoptotic spermatozoa and yields sperm with substantially improved quality and low DNA damage, offering a simple ...

THE HYDRODYNAMICAL LIMIT OF QUANTUM HALL SYSTEM [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics B, 2001
We study the current algebra of FQHE systems in the hydrodynamical limit of small amplitude, long-wavelength fluctuations. We show that the algebra simplifies considerably in this limit. The Hamiltonian is expressed in a current–current form and the operators creating inter-Landau level and lowest Landau level collective excitations are identified.

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.

Measured and Predicted Operating Characteristics of a Tilting-Pad Journal Bearing with Jacking-Oil Device at Hydrostatic, Hybrid, and Hydrodynamic Operation

open access: yesLubricants, 2018
Jacking-oil pockets are applied in many journals and thrust bearing applications in order to provide a hydrostatic oil film force that ensures a wear free run-up following a successful lift-off procedure. However, all components of the jacking-oil system

VIVID: A qPCR‐Based Platform for Sensitive and Quantitative In Vivo Tracking of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces VIVID (Vesicle In Vivo Identification using DNA), a qPCR‐based platform that tracks PCR‐amplifiable DNA tags loaded in the EVs for accurate and quantifiable EV biodistribution in vivo. ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) represent promising carriers for nucleic acid therapeutics, offering advantages over synthetic nanoparticles ...

Deciphering Small Molecule Diffusion Parameters Across Light Responsive Polymersome Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Light‐responsive polymersomes bearing donor–acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASAs) enable programmable control over small‐molecule transport across synthetic membranes. By systematically varying DASA density, an optimal functionalization regime is identified that maximizes light‐gated permeability.

Limit cases in the theory of the non-local relativistic enskog equations

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2015
Asymptotic solutions of the non-local relativistic hydrodynamic equations are investigated. Solutions of the mentioned system of equations were found for the limit case of the photon motion.

Knudsen number, ideal hydrodynamic limit for elliptic flow and QGP viscosity in $\sqrt{s}$=62 and 200 GeV Cu+Cu/Au+Au collisions

open access: yes, 2010
Taking into account of entropy generation during evolution of a viscous fluid, we have estimated inverse Knudsen number, ideal hydrodynamic limit for elliptic flow and QGP viscosity to entropy ratio in $\sqrt{s}$=62 and 200 GeV Cu+Cu/Au+Au collisions ...

Interacting Particle Systems: Hydrodynamic Limit Versus High Density Limit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this short survey we compare aspects of two different approaches for scaling limits of interacting particle systems, the hydrodynamic limit and the high density limit. We present some examples, comments and open problems on each approach for different scenarios: the law of large numbers, the central limit theorem, and the large deviations principle.
