jetsimpy: A Highly Efficient Hydrodynamic Code for Gamma-Ray Burst Afterglow

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Gamma-ray burst (GRB) afterglows are emissions from ultrarelativistic blast waves produced by a narrow jet interacting with surrounding matter. Since the first multimessenger observation of a neutron star merger, hydrodynamic modeling of GRB afterglows ...

Diffusion under confinement: hydrodynamic finite-size effects in simulation

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate finite-size effects on diffusion in confined fluids using molecular dynamics simulations and hydrodynamic calculations. Specifically, we consider a Lennard-Jones fluid in slit pores without slip at the interface and show that the use of ...

Poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) Nanoparticles for IL‐12 Self‐Amplifying RNA Delivery in Glioblastoma Models

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
xxxx. ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM) remains one of the most lethal brain cancers, with median survival rarely exceeding 15 months after diagnosis. Interleukin‐12 (IL‐12) is a potent immunostimulatory cytokine capable of reshaping the tumor microenvironment (TME), yet its clinical translation is hindered by systemic toxicity and short half‐life. RNA‐based

Bottomonium transport in a strongly coupled quark-gluon plasma

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
Quarkonium production in high-energy heavy-ion collisions remains a key probe of the quark-gluon plasma formed in these reactions, but the development of a fully integrated nonperturbative approach remains a challenge.

From Clinic to Computation: Multiscale Bioengineering Strategies for Durable Biological Aortic Valve Replacements

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bioprosthetic aortic valves have revolutionized the treatment of aortic stenosis, but their durability is limited by structural valve deterioration (SVD). This review focuses on the pericardial tissue at the heart of these valves, examining how its mechanical properties and calcification drive fatigue and failure.

Kinematic and dynamical origins of mean-pT fluctuations in heavy-ion collisions

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
Event-by-event fluctuations of the mean transverse momentum (mean-pT) provide a sensitive probe of collective dynamics beyond single-particle spectra and anisotropic flow.

Development of a novel storm surge inundation model framework for efficient prediction [PDF]

open access: yesGeoscientific Model Development
Storm surge is a natural process that causes flood disasters in coastal zones and results in massive casualties and property losses. Therefore, storm surge inundation is of major concern in formulating appropriate strategies for disaster prevention and ...

Hydrodynamic limit for interacting Ornstein–Uhlenbeck particles

open access: yesStochastic Processes and their Applications, 2002
Let us consider a system of \(N\) interacting Ornstein-Uhlenbeck particles, described by a stochastic differential equation \[ dq_ {i} = v_ {i}\,dt, \quad dv_ {i} = -2\sum _ {i\neq j} \nabla V(q_ {i}- q_ {j})\,dt - \frac {\gamma }2 v_ {i}\,dt + \sqrt {\frac {\gamma }{\beta }}\,dW_ {i}, \quad 1\leq i\leq N, \] in \((\mathbb T^ {d}\times \mathbb R^ {d})^

Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Crystal Growth: A General Framework for Anisotropic Crystal Growth in Cu‐Based Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Growth (CMDLG) framework is established to rationalize the anisotropic growth of lead‐free perovskites. Integrating coordination chemistry with mass transport kinetics, this study theoretically derives and experimentally validates that stable iodocuprate complexes induce a diffusion‐limited regime.

Universal density shift coefficients for the thermal conductivity and shear viscosity of a unitary Fermi gas

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
We measure universal temperature-independent density shifts for the thermal conductivity κ_{T} and shear viscosity η, relative to the high temperature limits, for a normal phase unitary Fermi gas confined in a box potential. We show that a time-dependent
