Non-Hydrodynamic Limit Dynamics

1991
There are many ways to scale such that in the limit the dynamics becomes deterministic. The hydrodynamic limit is singled out from all other possibilities by considering large space-time only. The interaction between particles remains the same and unchanged at every stage of the scaling limit The relative scale between space and time depends on the ...

Hydrodynamical limits for epidemic models

Communications in Statistics. Stochastic Models, 1998
The author uses the S-I-R epidemic model to study the spread of a disease in large plantation areas. He identifies this infection process with a birth and death process with variable birth rates and constant death rate. He employs the projection method [the author, Stochastic Processes Appl. 60, No. 1, 147-160 (1995; Zbl 0846.60009)] to derive a law of

Magneto-Hydrodynamics and Operational Limits

2014
The main aim of the fusion research is to confine the plasma long enough for fusion power production. The required temperatures are so high that no material can tolerate direct contact. The magnetic field acts on the plasma and gives opportunity for isolation of the burning region from the surrounding materials.

Algebraic Limitations on Two-Dimensional Hydrodynamics Simulations

Journal of Computational Physics, 1996
Algebraic limitations imposed by the use of connected straightline segments to define meshes for hydrodynamics simulations in two-dimensional cylindrical geometries are shown. It is shown that in the simplest smooth isentropic flow of the spherical expansion of a gas with point symmetry, commonly, and currently, used finite difference, finite volume ...

Relative Entropy and Hydrodynamic Limits

1993
For the non-gradient version of the Ginzburg-Landau type model for which we established a hydrodynamic scaling limit earlier, we now show that if we start from an initial distribution that is locally Gibbsian then at any later time the distibutions remain close to locally Gibbsian distributions.
