Cell‐Based Biohybrid Micro/Nanorobots for Biotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review systematically evaluates cell‐based biohybrid micro/nanorobots (CB‐BMRs), highlighting their cell selection criteria, fabrication strategies, and diverse actuation modes. Furthermore, it surveys the promising therapeutic applications of CB‐BMRs in targeted cancer, thrombosis, and inflammation treatments, while comprehensively discussing ...

WorMa: An Undulatory Robot With Center of Mass Regulation via Internal Fluid Redistribution for Amphibious Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
WorMa is an amphibious undulatory robot that uses Center of Mass redistribution as the sole terrain adaptation mechanism. This mechanism is based on internal fluid mass redistribution through a pump‐driven latex balloon system that creates three profiles: head‐biased, balanced, and tail‐biased.

Enhancing Amphibious Flipper‐Based Locomotion Through Terrain‐Dependent Bayesian Optimization of Central Pattern Generator Control

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A sea turtle‐inspired amphibious robot uses simulation‐guided optimization to adapt its flipper coordination to different environments. Sensitivity analysis and multiobjective Bayesian optimization identify terrain‐dependent controllers that are validated on hardware.

XeraBorg: Neural Control of Tail‐Flick Escape for Backward Propulsion in Cyborg Crayfish

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents the first controlled tail‐flick propulsion method for the cyborg Cherax quadricarinatus. Comprehensive experiments establish a foundational framework for using the crayfish's natural escape mechanism as a locomotion strategy, expanding its potential as an underwater and amphibious mobile robot.
