Quantum‐Grade Nanodiamonds from a Single‐Step, Industrial‐Scale Pressure and Temperature Process

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel method for creation of nitrogen‐vacancy centers in 50‐nm nanodiamonds based on high‐temperature plastic deformation is demonstrated. Compared to the electron irradiation approach, it yields nitrogen‐vacancy centers with significantly improved charge stability, T1 relaxation time, and optical Rabi contrast.

Numerical Simulation of Photospheric Emission in Long Gamma-Ray Bursts: Prompt Correlations, Spectral Shapes, and Polarizations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We explore the properties of photospheric emission in the context of long gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) using three numerical models that combine relativistic hydrodynamical simulations and Monte Carlo radiation transfer calculations in three dimensions.

Novel Bioconjugate Materials: Synthesis, Characterization and Medical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review discusses the bioconjugation of novel materials grouped under “biological”, “hybrid” and “synthetic” categories. Medical applications ranging from cancer therapy and diagnostics to optogenetics and tissue engineering are explored, and conjugation trends are highlighted as a general guide. The review concludes with a comparison of techniques

Why Do Semianalytic Models Predict Higher Scatter in the Stellar Mass–Halo Mass Relation Than Cosmological Hydrodynamic Simulations?

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Semianalytic models (SAMs) systematically predict higher-stellar mass scatter at a given halo mass than hydrodynamical simulations and most empirical models. Our goal is to investigate the physical origin of this scatter by exploring modifications to the

Synthetic Antiferromagnetic Designer Nanodisks for High‐Performance Magnetic Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Micromagnetic‐modeling‐based design and scalable fabrication of synthetic antiferromagnet (SAF) magnetic disk particles (MDPs) using sputter deposition enable high‐performance magnetic separation. The SAF MDPs achieve high colloidal stability and magnetic responsiveness and enable efficient magnetic separation, outperforming conventional particles ...

Impact of Self-shielding Minihalos on the Lyα Forest at High Redshift

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Dense gas in minihalos with masses of 10 ^6 −10 ^8 M _⊙ can shield themselves from reionization for ∼100 Myr after being exposed to the UV background.

Pulmonary Delivery of siRNA Anti‐TNFα‐loaded Lipid Nanoparticles for Rapid Recovery in Murine Acute Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
In a murine model of acute lung injury, pulmonary administration of lipid nanoparticles carrying TNFα siRNA enables targeted delivery to immune cells. The study emphasises the importance of optimizing LNP distribution and delivery timing to improve therapeutic outcomes and develop emergency therapies for lung hyperinflammation.

The Role of a Neutron Component in the Photospheric Emission of Long-duration Gamma-Ray Burst Jets

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Long-duration gamma-ray bursts (LGRBs), thought to be produced during core-collapse supernovae, may have a prominent neutron component in the outflow material.

Multiscale Profiling of Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Framework Biocompatibility and Immune Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A multi‐scale, hierarchical ‘Safety‐by‐Design’ pipeline combining machine learning, ex vivo human blood assays, and in vivo models enables the systematic immunotoxicity and biocompatibility profiling of nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks, accelerating their safe clinical translation. Abstract The clinical translation of metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) –
