Hydrodynamic simulation of multicellular embryo invagination

Physical Biology, 2008
The mechanical aspects of embryonic morphogenesis have been widely analysed by numerical simulations of invagination in sea urchins and Drosophila gastrulation. Finite element models, which describe the tissue as a continuous medium, lead to the global invagination morphogenesis observed in vivo.

Renal corpuscular hydrodynamics: Digital computer simulation

Pflgers Archiv European Journal of Physiology, 1974
A mathematical model of the renal corpuscle is presented and used to quantify the effect on filtration rate, nephron blood flow and hydrostatic pressure in the glomerular capillaries of variations in: 1. the hydrostatic pressure in Bowman's space; 2. the hydrodynamic resistances of the afferent and efferent arterioles; 3.

PARTICLE MESH HYDRODYNAMICS FOR ASTROPHYSICS SIMULATIONS

International Journal of Modern Physics C, 2007
We present a particle method for the simulation of three dimensional compressible hydrodynamics based on a hybrid Particle-Mesh discretization of the governing equations. The method is rooted on the regularization of particle locations as in remeshed Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (rSPH).

Hydrodynamic Mixed-Mode Simulation

1998
Recent advances in development of semiconductor devices lead to more and more complex device structures. This concerns device geometry as well as the combination of different materials. Due to the rapid reduction of device geometries, the models describing the device physics increase in complexity.

Hydrodynamic Simulation of Semiconductor Devices

Progress in Quantum Electronics, 1997
Abstract In this paper, we present an introduction to hydrodynamic-based simulation of semiconductor devices. A very general approach is given to illustrate a mathematical method of the solution. A general differential equation which is characteristic of the relevant semiconductor equations is first presented and discussed.

Smoothed-particle-hydrodynamics simulation of port hydrodynamic problems

2013
The thesis reports on the development of a numerical procedure based on the meshfree Smoothed-Particle-Hydrodynamics (SPH) approach for the simulation of complex port hydrodynamic problems including the interaction between ships, harbour facilities, water and soil. Corresponding constitutive models have been derived, implemented and validated.

Hydrodynamic simulations of hypervelocity impacts

International Journal of Impact Engineering, 1989
Abstract When a metal projectile hits a thin metal plate at velocity high enough to penetrate it, a cloud of debris is produced, whose structure for normal impacts provides a unique test for hydrodynamic computer simulation. We report results of benchmark calculations of hypervelocity impacts of a lead sphere on a lead plate where significant ...

Computer simulation of Burnett hydrodynamics

Molecular Physics, 1982
Non-equilibrium molecular dynamics is used to calculate the wavevector and strain rate dependence of shear viscosity in a soft sphere fluid. The calculations are consistent with a non-analytic functional dependence of viscosity with wavevector. A consequence of such non-analyticity would be that the linear and non-linear Burnett coefficients for ...

Hydrodynamical Simulations of Extragalactic Jets

EAS Publications Series, 2001
Hydrodynamical simulations have played an important role in the understanding of extragalactic jets since the late seventies. In this talk, recent simulations of jets in the relativistic regime are reviewed. Special attention is payed to simulations of jets at parsec scale which, for the first time.
