Manipulating hydrogen oxy-combustion through carbon dioxide addition

Fuel, 2023
[EN] Hydrogen (H2) is increasingly viewed as an attractive carbon-free fuel due to its potential compatibility with the existing transportation and conversion infrastructure. However, one of the major challenges facing large-scale deployment is the fundamentally different combustion properties it has in comparison to commonplace hydrocarbon fuels such ...

In-Catalyzed Transfer Hydrogenation and Regioselective Hydrogen–Deuterium Addition to the Olefins

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2023
A unique and valuable methodology is developed for the hydrogenation of aromatic as well as aliphatic 1,1-di- and trisubstituted alkenes. In the presence of catalytic InBr3, readily available 1,3-benzodioxole and residual H2O present in the reaction mixture are utilized as a hydrogen gas surrogate and proved to be a practical source of deuterium ...

Hydrogenated monoterpenes as diesel fuel additives

Fuel, 2009
Myrcene and limonene were hydrogenated to their fully saturated forms, 2,6-dimethyloctane and 1-isopropyl-4-methylcyclohexane, respectively. Mixtures of diesel fuel and up to 10% of each saturated hydrocarbon were tested by ASTM D975 to evaluate the 2,6-dimethyloctane and 1-isopropyl-4-methylcyclohexane as diesel fuel additives. The results showed that

Rotary Engine Combustion With Hydrogen Addition

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1976
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The lean operating limit of a rotary combustion engine was extended by hydrogen-enriched fuel to equivalence ratios as low as 0.49. Reductions in NOx and CO emissions from baseline conditions were observed, although HC emissions increased significantly.</div> <div class="htmlview ...

Selective hydrogenation with copper catalysts: III. Hydrogen addition and isomerization

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1970
Abstractβ‐Eleostearate was found to be reduced by 1,6 addition of hydrogen. Because of the extensive isomerization of conjugated trienes during hydrogenation, the occurrence of 1,2 and 1,4 addition reactions could not be proven. Conjugated dienes were reduced by both 1,2 and 1,4 addition of hydrogen.

On the hydrogen addition to graphene

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 2009
Herein, we report on a comparative study of the addition of hydrogen to graphene. The binding energies and structural parameters determined using Siesta are in excellent agreement with those calculated employing more sophisticated and computational expensive plane waves codes.

Heterogeneously catalyzed antarafacial addition of hydrogen

Journal of Molecular Catalysis, 1980
Abstract The hydrogenation of non-migrating double bonds in bicyclic olefins over platinum, palladium, and rhodium was investigated. With platinum, up to 16% antarafacial (trans) addition was observed. The hydrogenation over palladium proceeded suprafacially (cis) in neutral medium, but in the presence of strong acid up to 60% antarafacial addition ...

Group Additive Kinetics for Hydrogen Transfer Between Oxygenates

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2015
Hydrogen abstraction reactions involving oxygenates in gaseous phase play an important role in many biomass-related conversion processes. In this work, group additivity is used to provide Arrhenius parameters in a temperature range of 300-2500 K for hydrogen abstractions between oxygenate compounds such as alcohols, ethers, esters, acids, ketones ...

Addition of phosphorus–hydrogen and arsenic–hydrogen bonds to vinyl isocyanide

J. Chem. Soc., Perkin Trans. 1, 1974
Addition of diphenylphosphine or diphenylarsine to vinyl isocyanide catalysed by potassium t-butoxide gives the liquid 2-diphenylphosphinoethyl (I) or diphenylarsinoethyl isocyanide (II). However, a similar addition of phenylphosphine to vinyl isocyanide in tetrahydrofuran solution gives 4,5-dihydro-3-phenyl-1,3-azaphosphole rather than ...
