MAS NMR detection of hydrogen bonds for protein secondary structure characterization [PDF]
Hydrogen bonds are essential for protein structure and function, making experimental access to long-range interactions between amide protons and heteroatoms invaluable. Here we show that measuring distance restraints involving backbone hydrogen atoms and

Using the Born-Oppenheimer approximation, we show that exotic resonances, $X$ and $Z$, may emerge as QCD molecular objects made of colored two-quark lumps, states with heavy-light diquarks spatially separated from antidiquarks. With the same method we confirm that doubly heavy tetraquarks are stable against strong decays.

Crystal structure of tris(piperidinium) hydrogen sulfate sulfate
In the title molecular salt, 3C5H12N+·HSO4−·SO42−, each cation adopts a chair conformation. In the crystal, the hydrogen sulfate ion is connected to the sulfate ion by a strong O—H...O hydrogen bond. The packing also features a number of N—H...O hydrogen

Hydrogen-bonding interactions in the crystalline-phase structures of cinnamic acid derivatives [PDF]
Secondary interactions responsible for the crystalline-phase structures of various cinnamic acids and cinnamic acid esters drawn from the Cambridge Structural Database were studied with the help of the Cerius package implemented on an SGI workstation ...

In 2,2,5-trimethyl-1,3-dioxane-5-carboxylic acid, C8H14O4, the carboxyl group occupies an equatorial position on the 1,3-dioxane ring. In the crystal, O—H...O hydrogen bonds form chains of molecules, which are linked into a three-dimensional network by C—

Soliton model for proton conductivity in Langmuir films [PDF]
A soliton model for proton conductivity in Langmuir films is presented. The model contains three real scalar fields describing the hydrogen involved in the conduction, the hydrophilic head of the Langmuir film, and the water.

Raman Spectroscopy for the Competition of Hydrogen Bonds in Ternary (H2O–THF–DMSO) Aqueous Solutions
The effects of hydrogen bonds on the molecular structure of water-tetrahydrofuran (H2O−THF), water-dimethyl sulfoxide (H2O−DMSO), and water-tetrahydrofuran-dimethyl sulfoxide (H2O−THF−DMSO) in binary aqueous solutions and ternary ...

Interaction extracellular vesicles (iEVs) are hybrid vesicles formed through host‐pathogen communication. They facilitate immune evasion, transfer pathogens' molecules, increase host cell uptake, and enhance virulence. This Perspective article illustrates the multifunctional roles of iEVs and highlights their emerging relevance in infection dynamics ...

Temperature dependence of the hydrogen bond network in Trimethylamine N-oxide and guanidine hydrochloride - water solutions [PDF]
We present an X-ray Compton scattering study on aqueous Trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) and guanidine hydrochloride solutions (GdnHCl) as a function of temperature. Independent from the concentration of the solvent, Compton profiles almost resemble results

Supercritical Water is not Hydrogen Bonded [PDF]
AbstractThinking about water is inextricably linked to hydrogen bonds, which are highly directional in character and determine the unique structure of water, in particular its tetrahedral H‐bond network. Here, we assess if this common connotation also holds for supercritical water.
