Thermally Assisted Photocatalytic Dehydrogenation of Methanol in Continuous Steady‐State Operation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Thermally assisted photocatalytic methanol dehydrogenation on Pt/TiO2 enables formaldehyde and hydrogen production far beyond thermodynamic limits. Continuous operation delivers up to 95% selectivity over 70 h, and oxygen microdosing strongly boosts conversion by regenerating surface oxygen sites.

Beyond Traditional Phenolics: Disulfide Bonds for Performance Enhancement of Aerospace Ablation‐Resistant Materials from Processing to Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The dynamic disulfide bonds facilitated the development of high‐performance aerospace ablation‐resistant materials. At moderate temperature, the dissociation and recombination of disulfide bonds ensured excellent processability, mechanical properties, and recycling ability of phenolic resin; at high temperature, cleavage of disulfide bonds produced ...

Modeling Hydrogen-Assisted Combustion of Liquid Fuels in Compression-Ignition Engines Using a Double-Wiebe Function

open access: yesEnergies
This article discusses the potential of using the double-Wiebe function to model combustion in a compression-ignition engine fueled by diesel fuel or its substitutes, such as hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and rapeseed methyl ester (RME), and hydrogen ...

Multi‐Scale Bionic Structure Constructs Biomass Flame‐Retardant Thermal Insulation Foam Material

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by mussel adhesion and hierarchical brick‐and‐mortar architectures, a cellulose‐based biomimetic foam is constructed by anchoring bentonite nanosheets onto a polydopamine‐decorated cellulose nanofiber network. The resulting foam combines low thermal conductivity with intrinsic flame retardancy and full biodegradability, presenting a ...

Decoupling Electronic–Ionic Transport and Catalysis Enables High‐Performance, Chemically Stable Sr‐Free Air Electrodes for High‐Temperature Solid Oxide Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A Sr‐free air electrode for high‐temperature solid oxide cells is designed by independently tailoring electronic conduction, ionic transport, and surface catalysis using complementary Sr‐free phases and infiltrated nanocatalysts. It delivers performance comparable to state‐of‐the‐art Sr‐containing electrodes while completely suppressing Cr‐induced ...

Catalytic Hydrogen Combustion

open access: yes
The intermittency associated with renewable energy sources can be mitigated through the use of an energy carrier that can be produced and stored during periods of energy abundance. Hydrogen (H2), as a carbon-free energy carrier, possesses the highest mass energy density relative to other fuels, making it a promising candidate. The chemical energy of H2

Experimental Investigations of the Hydrogen Injectors on the Combustion Characteristics and Performance of a Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine

open access: yesSustainability
Hydrogen is regarded as an ideal zero-carbon fuel for an internal combustion engine. However, the low mass flow rate of the hydrogen injector and the low volume heat value of the hydrogen strongly restrict the enhancement of the hydrogen engine performance.

Hydrogen‐Bond Enabled Phosphite Based Intrinsic Flame‐Retardant Solid‐Solid Phase Change Materials Using Catalyst/Solvent‐Free Multi‐Component Reaction for Battery Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The phosphite group endows intrinsic flame retardancy, while the P = O bond enhances intermolecular interactions to realize solid‐solid phase transition. Battery thermal management tests show the materials extend the safe working time of lithium‐ion batteries by 200%. Cone calorimeter tests indicate a 14s delay in ignition time, and reductions of 37.6%,
