Pyrolysis-catalytic reforming/gasification of waste tires for production of carbon nanotubes and hydrogen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The production of high-value carbon nanotubes and hydrogen from the two-stage pyrolysis catalytic-steam reforming/gasification of waste tires have been investigated. The catalysts used were Co/Al₂ O₃ , Cu/Al₂ O₃ , Fe/Al₂ O₃ and Ni/Al₂ O₃ .

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Cell Hydrogen Oxidation

open access: yesIOSR Journal of Dental and Medical Sciences, 2013
Every individual‟s 75 to 100 trillion (10) living cells fight with the millions of harmful radicals which were unstable molecules lacking one or more electrons and compensate by damaging healthy cells. Human body posses millions of glands all over the body to provide specialized products like proteins, fatty acids, hormones etc., to take care of any ...

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

A comprehensive study on effective triple‐phase boundary density and its correlation with active anode thickness in solid oxide fuel cells

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are highly promising devices for efficient and low‐emission energy conversion. The effective triple‐phase boundary (TPB) density refers to the fraction of percolated TPB density that effectively contributes to the current ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

CO tolerant Pt/Ru0.7Ti0.3O2 nanocatalyst for hydrogen oxidation reaction

open access: yesZaštita Materijala, 2018
The oxidation of pure H2 and H2/CO mixture (100 ppm CO) was investigated on Pt nanocatalyst supported on Ru0.7Ti0.3O2 (Pt /Ru0.7Ti0.3O2) by linear sweep voltammetry at a rotating disc electrode in 0.1 M HClO4.

Heavy hydrogen in the stratosphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We report measurements of the deuterium content of molecular hydrogen (H2) obtained from a suite of air samples that were collected during a stratospheric balloon flight between 12 and 33 km at 40º N in October 2002. Strong deuterium enrichments of up to

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.
