Reduced Muscular Carnosine in Proximal Myotonic Myopathy—A Pilot 1H‐MRS Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Myotonic dystrophy type 2 (proximal myotonic myopathy, PROMM) is a progressive multisystem disorder with muscular symptoms (proximal weakness, pain, myotonia) and systemic manifestations such as diabetes mellitus, cataracts, and cardiac arrhythmias.

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.

Investigations of Quantitative Reducibility Determination and Reducibility Variations of Neutral Hydrogen-Dissolved Water by Electrochemical Analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2014
Electrolysis using tap water(TW) in a batch type electrolyzer not separated into the anode chamber and cathode chamber produce neutral hydrogen-dissolved water(HDW) that dissolved gas hydrogen.

Adjustment of Coatings Morphology and Particle Distribution of Layered Silicates by Freeze‐Drying for Improved Gas Barriers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Freeze‐drying of layered silicate is the key to get coatings with superior gas barrier. Freeze‐drying of layered silicates modified with dodecylamine (DDA) is a highly effective technique for the preparation of barrier pigments that significantly mitigate the permeation of oxygen, water vapor, and hydrogen through polymer films containing these ...

Development and validation of models for fuel rod oxidation and hydrogen pick-up behaviors in pressurized water reactor

open access: yesHe jishu
BackgroundDuring the long-term operation of a nuclear reactor, the contact between zirconium alloy cladding and cooling water results in oxidation reactions and hydrogen uptake-induced embrittlement behavior, which deteriorates the thermal and mechanical

Nitrogen containing species as intermediates in the oxidation of ammonia over silica supported molybdena catalysts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The behaviour of ammonia and oxygen over silica supported molybdena catalysts has been studied by means of thermal analysis techniques, such as thermo-gravimetry and heat-flow calorimetry.

Is Young's Modulus a Critical Coating Property Determining Fouling‐Release Performance of Marine Coatings?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The release of foulers from protective marine coatings is determined by several interrelated material properties, including the strength of Young's modulus, the flexibility of chain segments, the surface free energy, and the magnitude of hydrodynamic stress.

Protection of AlCrNbSiTi High Entropy Alloy Coating on Zirconium Alloy by High-temperature Steam Oxidation at 1 200 ℃

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu, 2023
It is one of the main ideas of developing ATF cladding materials to improve the accident resistance of zirconium alloy by coating. In the existing research on the protection mechanism of the coating on zirconium alloy substrate, the main focus is on the ...

Preparation and evaluation of advanced electrocatalysts for phosphoric acid fuel cells [PDF]

open access: yes
Results are presented for hydrogen oxidation and hydrogen oxidation poisoned by carbon monoxide at levels between 0 and 30%. Due to the high activities that are now being observed for our platinum based electrocatalysts, the hydrogen concentrations were ...
