Pyrolysis-catalytic reforming/gasification of waste tires for production of carbon nanotubes and hydrogen [PDF]
The production of high-value carbon nanotubes and hydrogen from the two-stage pyrolysis catalytic-steam reforming/gasification of waste tires have been investigated. The catalysts used were Co/Al₂ O₃ , Cu/Al₂ O₃ , Fe/Al₂ O₃ and Ni/Al₂ O₃ .

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Biotechnological aspects of sulfate reduction with methane as electron donor [PDF]
Biological sulfate reduction can be used for the removal and recovery of oxidized sulfur compounds and metals from waste streams. However, the costs of conventional electron donors, like hydrogen and ethanol, limit the application possibilities.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Thermodynamic Study of H2-FeO Based on the Principle of Minimum Gibbs Free Energy
Studies have shown that the reduction of wustite is the limiting factor in the ironmaking process, whether in hydrogen-based shaft furnaces, hydrogen-rich blast furnaces or smelting reduction vessels.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
