Hydrogen production by electrolysis of a phosphate solution on a stainless steel cathode [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The catalytic properties of phosphate species, already shown on the reduction reaction in anaerobic corrosion of steels, are exploited here for hydrogen production.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

CFD Modelling of Gas-Solid Reactions: Analysis of Iron and Manganese Oxides Reduction with Hydrogen

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications, 2023
Metallurgical processes are characterized by a complex interplay of heat and mass transfer, momentum transfer, and reaction kinetics, and these interactions play a crucial role in reactor performance.

Reduction and Unfolding for Quantum Systems: the Hydrogen Atom

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper we propose a ``quantum reduction procedure'' based on the reduction of algebras of differential operators on a manifold. We use these techniques to show, in a systematic way, how to relate the hydrogen atom to a family of quantum harmonic ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Investigation of welded joints of long-term operated gas pipeline controllable rolled X70 steel [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions, 2023
The complex properties (mechanical, microstructure, and electrochemical) of controllable rolling X70 steel pipes of the main gas pipeline with a diameter of 1420 mm after an operation for 20 years and emergency reserve pipe after a similar period of ...

Study of the influence of phosphoric acid in steel anaerobic corrosion via the hydrogen evolution reaction. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Although it is well known that the phosphate species are quiet electrochemically inert when considering their calculated redox potential, few studies since the end of 80’s reported electrochemical phenomenon observed in the reduction domain which were ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Nitrogen containing species as intermediates in the oxidation of ammonia over silica supported molybdena catalysts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The behaviour of ammonia and oxygen over silica supported molybdena catalysts has been studied by means of thermal analysis techniques, such as thermo-gravimetry and heat-flow calorimetry.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
