(1) 蓖麻子油の高壓水素添加法によるOctadecandiol (1, 12)の生成を證しコバルト觸媒による場合反應温度220~235°Cを以て好適なりと認めた. (2) 純Octadecandiol酸エステル曹達鹽を調製し之が諸性状特に諸種濃度の水溶液につき粘度界面張力等の測定を行つた.之等の性質は温度の變化により著しき影響を認めず,同一炭素の正アルコホルの硫酸エステル曹達鹽に比し水に對する溶解度著しく大なる特徴あるも浸透剤としての他の性質は概して稍劣ることを認めた.
