Investigation on the mechanical properties and oil resistance of sulfur cured nitrile rubber/hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber blends

Polymer Engineering and Science, 2021
AbstractNitrile rubber (NBR)/hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) blends with various ratios were compounded with internal mixer and two‐roll open mill. Mechanical properties and low‐temperature performance (TR10) of the NBR/HNBR blends after aging under different conditions were investigated.

Structure and Properties of Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber/Organo-Montmorillonite Nanocomposites

open access: yesClays and Clay Minerals, 2010
AbstractThe aim of the work was to study the effect of organo-montmorillonite (OMt) on the properties of hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR)/OMt nanocomposites. The nanocomposites were prepared by a melt intercalation method. The structure of the composites was studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

Low-Temperature Properties of Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber (HNBR)

open access: yesRubber Chemistry and Technology, 1991
Abstract HNBR, hydrogenated nitrile rubber, is a heat-, oil-, and fuel-resistant elastomer produced by the selective hydrogenation of NBR. As shown in Table I, HNBR is a highly saturated nitrile elastomer consisting of units of acrylonitrile, ethylene, unsaturated butadiene, and hydrogenated vinyl butadiene.

Polymer Blends with Hydrogenated Nitrile-Butadiene Rubber and with an Ionomer of Hydrogenated Carboxylic Styrene-Butadiene Rubber

Journal of Macromolecular Science - Physics, 2003
Hydrogenated nitrile-butadiene rubber (HNBR) and hydrogenated carboxylic styrene-butadiene rubber (HXSBR) were obtained from rubber latex via the diimide process without pressurized hydrogen. The ionomer of HXSBR was prepared via neutralization of HXSBR with a metallic ion.

Improvement of Low-Temperature Flexibility of Hydrogenated Nitrile—Butadiene Rubber

open access: yesRubber Chemistry and Technology, 1997
Abstract Improvement of low-temperature flexibility of Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (HNBR) is a requirement for industrial applications. In this study, the relationship between low-temperature flexibility and polymer structure—such as higher order structure and monomer unit distribution along a polymer chain—was examined for HNBRs ...

Determination of the Degree of Hydrogenation in Hydrogenated Nitrile-Butadiene Rubber (HNBR)

open access: yesRubber Chemistry and Technology, 1990
Abstract A number of analytical techniques are available for the measurement of the residual unsaturation in HNBR polymers. However, to insure that high-quality HNBR products are produced, it is necessary to use a standard procedure throughout the industry which is quick, accurate, and precise.
