Hydrogenolysis of [PhBP_3]Fe≡N-p-tolyl:  Probing the Reactivity of an Iron Imide with H_2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper describes the reductive hydrogenolysis of a low-spin (S = 1/2) iron(III) imide. Pseudotetrahedral [PhBP_3]Fe^(III)≡N-p-tolyl is reduced by hydrogen at ambient temperature and pressure in benzene solution.

A novel route to 3-hydroxy-16,17-seco-estrone derivatives (NOTE)

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 1999
Starting from 3-benzyloxy-17-hydroxy-16,17-secoestra-1,3,5(10)-triene-16-nitrile (1b), 17-tosylate 2b and also 17-chloro-, 17-bromo- and 17-iodo-derivatives 4b, 5b, and 6b, were obtained. The fluoro-derivative 3b was obtained from 2b in the reaction with

Synthesis of an arginine mimic for an antifungal octapeptide library : this thesis is presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Chemistry at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A family of bioactive antifungal octapeptides has been established¹⁻³. The template for this library is based on peptides composed of two predefined amino acids, three arginines, and three unknown components. The arginine contains a guanidino group (pKa =

Hydrogenolysis of glycerol

open access: yes, 2010
The purpose of this research was to achieved selective hydrogenolysis of glycerol to 1,2-PDO (1,2-propanediol). Hydrogenolysis of glycerol was investigated in batch and trickle flow fixed bed continuous reactors. Raney catalysts and carbon supported precious catalysts were tested in the batch reactor. Ru/C and oxide-supported catalysts were tested in a

Effect of solid acids in the conversion of glycerol over ru/bentonite catalyst in glycerol hydrogenolysis reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Glycerol known as by-product of transesterification of vegetables oil become an important materials after some chemical modification. In this study, hydrogenolysis reaction of glycerol to 1,2-propanediol was conducted using various supported ruthenium ...

Cellulosic Biofuels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Cellulosic biofuels are not as far off as often assumed. EESI's investigation of this issue found some pilot scale cellulosic biofuel production facilities already online and many more demonstration and commercial scale biorefineries under construction ...
