Cyclic Imide Dioximes: Formation and Hydrolytic Stability
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2012Poly(acrylamidoximes) play an important role in the uranium extraction from seawater. The present work reports solution studies of simple analogues to address the formation and stability of two binding sites present in these polymers, open-chain amidoximes and cyclic imide dioximes, including: (1) conditions that maximize the formation of the cyclic ...

Water sorption and hydrolytic stability of polycarbonates
Polymer Engineering & Science, 1989AbstractThe hydrolytic stability of a new commercial polycarbonate (Calibre 300, Dow Chemical USA) was investigated and compared with that of other commercial polycarbonates. The tests were conducted between 56% and 95% relative humidity (R. H.) at 100°C. Also performed were water immersion tests at 80 and 100°C. The water diffusivity was found to be 8.

Hydrolytic stability of gear and transmission oils
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 1989Water entering crankcases or gearboxes is frequently a source of premature deterioration of the service properties of the oil. Water contamination of oil results in the formation of stable emulsions with viscosities considerably lower than that of the oil, leading to changes in the liquid friction regime, loss of homogeneity of the lubricant, and ...

Hydrolytic stability of single‐package silicone sealant
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1986AbstractStability of a commercially available single‐package silicone sealant has been investigated under different water immersion temperatures. The study involved water sorption, weight loss, thermal stability, and strength reduction. It is believed that the deterioration of silicone sealant was due to the combined effects of leaching, water swelling,
