Abstract Time series of groundwater head in a semi‐infinite, one‐dimensional confined aquifer due to variable boundary forcing can be decomposed into two signals: head rise from a sudden boundary increase, and head fluctuation from boundary sinusoidal changes.

Modeling of Adaptive Automobile Control System with Hydro-Mechanical Transmission
Models for research of an adaptive system of automatic automobile control with a hydromechanical transmission have been developed. A mathematical modeling of a heavy hauler motion along a standard route with due account of driver’s logic, various ...

Review of battery electric vehicle propulsion systems incorporating flywheel energy storage [PDF]
The development of battery electric vehicles (BEV) must continue since this can lead us towards a zero emission transport system. There has been an advent of the production BEVs in recent years; however their low range and high cost still remain the two ...

Characterisation of Groundwater Flow in the Deltaic Aquifer‐Aquitard System
This study employs a permanent multilevel groundwater monitoring system to capture high‐resolution, hourly groundwater level fluctuations in a deltaic basin, providing an unprecedented dataset for evaluating groundwater flow dynamics. Fractal behaviours are used to explore the deltaic groundwater flow system.

Thermodynamic Bond Graphs and the Problem of Thermal Inertance [PDF]
It is shown that an isolated thermal inertance does not obey the second law of thermodynamics. Consequently, such an element should not be used in physical systems theory.

Abstract Fractures evolve in time through thermal‐hydraulic‐mechanical‐chemical (THMC) processes that alter their long‐range hydraulic transport properties and modify subsurface behavior and activities. The location of subsurface fractures makes it necessary to use remote sensing techniques such as passive or active seismic monitoring for fracture ...

Design Automation of Complex Hydromechanical Transmissions
This thesis proposes an automated methodology for the design of complex multiple-mode hydromechanical transmissions. High fuel prices and strict emission regulations are today drivers of the development of new fuel-efficient drive transmissions for construction machinery. Hydromechanical transmissions have high energy efficiency and a wide torque/speed

Development of 1D Hybrid Hydromechanical Models for Real‐Time Forecasting of Induced Seismicity Rate
Abstract Hydraulic stimulations play an important role in Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) by increasing the permeability of the host rock and facilitating more efficient fluid circulation and heat extraction. However, fluid injection operations are unavoidably accompanied by induced earthquakes.
