Nanoscale Buried Interface Control in Silicone Hydrogels Enables a Biointerface Engineering Platform. [PDF]
A hydrophilic coating with controllable nanoscale thickness is applied to commercial silicone hydrogel contact lenses. By combining comprehensive multi‐modal three‐dimensional characterization with an advanced algorithm, the thickness and chemical information of these multilayered structures are resolved.

Unilateral intraocular lens opacification in an otherwise healthy eye
With phacoemulsification with posterior chamber intraocular lens (PCIOL) implant being the standard of care for the past few decades, sufficient time and numbers have been crossed, revealing newer long-term complication related to the procedure.

Intraocular light scatter as modeled through a stratified medium [PDF]
Intraocular light scatter is modeled through a stratified medium. It is shown that the eye lens possesses properties of an interference filter. In conditions that may mimic opacification, as found with cataract formation, such a filter may have stop ...

We report the first case of opacification of the BioComFold 92S (Morcher GmbH) intraocular lens. The opacification pattern is unique, presenting mainly in the periphery of the optic and the haptics of the lens, leaving the central portion of the optic ...

Comparison of a hydrophilic and a hydrophobic apodized diffractive multifocal intraocular lens [PDF]
To compare outcomes between a new design apodized diffractive hydrophilic multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) (Seelens MF; study group), and a well-known apodized diffractive hydrophobic multifocal IOL (SN6AD1; control group). A comparative case series comparing refractive and visual outcomes at distance and near.

A clinical case of replacing a clouded hydrophilic intraocular lens
Nowadays phacoemulsification of cataract (PEC) with implantation of an intraocular lens (IOL) occupies a leading share in the structure of surgical interventions in the profile of ophthalmology (from 40% to 60%), however, there are cases when, after the operation, there are indications for extraction (explantation) IOL. Purpose.

Mechanical characterisation of hydrophobic and hydrophilic acrylates used in intraocular lenses through depth sensing indentation [PDF]
In this work, the mechanical behaviour of hydrophilic and hydrophobic acrylates has been characterised by depth sensing indentation. Time-dependent behaviour has been studied using load-relaxation tests.

Comparison of capsular and uveal compatibility between acrylic hydrophobic and hydrophilic intraocular lens for cataract surgery [PDF]
Objective: To assess the difference in the uveal and capsular compatibility between two commonly used intraocular lens materials in patients with phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implant. Methodology: This quasi experimental study included 100
