Posterior Capsule Opacification after Cataract Surgery via Implantation with Hydrophobic Acrylic Lens Compared with Silicone Intraocular Lens: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, 2022
Hydrophobic acrylic intraocular lens (IOL) is the most popular material in cataract surgery. Posterior capsule opacification (PCO) is a long-term complication of cataract surgery.

A new method for analyzing glistenings in hydrophobic acrylic intraocular lenses [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Abstract A reproducible, examiner-independent, objective method was introduced that uses swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) and compared with established methods. Glistenings were induced in-vitro in twenty-five IOLs, five different IOL models: AcrySof SN60WF, AcrySof MA60AC, Clareon CNA0T0, PY60AD and Vivinex XY1.
