Analysis on rigidity of hydraulic hoses for electro-hydrostatic actuators
IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2017Electro-hydrostatic actuators (EHAs) are said to have potential as actuators for robotic systems because they have high power-to-weight ratio, compact, and energy saving systems compared to general hydraulic systems. However, modeling approaches and analyses on dynamic characteristics have not been quite concrete yet. In order to expand EHAs' potential

Hydrostatic actuation is a novel method of actuation in Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) and provides advantages over other actuation techniques in current use. Hydrostatic actuation utilises a contained pressurised medium to straighten a bent hollow beam, similar to the Bourdon tube used to measure pressure in the macro world.

MODELLING AND CONTROL OF AN ELECTRO‐HYDROSTATIC ACTUATOR
International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 1997The control of a novel aerospace actuator is considered, viz., an electro-hydrostatic actuator. It offers a high degree of maintainability and combat survivability of the aircraft's flight control system because all the actuator's elements are collocated.

Hydrostatically Coupled Dielectric Elastomer Actuators
IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, 2010Within the emerging field of polymer-based mechatronics, soft materials showing intrinsic electromechanical transduction properties are being largely studied to develop new types of actuators. Among them, so-called dielectric elastomer (DE) actuators are one of the most promising.
