Viscous pump for highly backdrivable Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator
2012 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2012It is widely acknowledged that the actuator's intrinsic backdrivability is important in realizing a force sensitive behavior. It is desirable to realize such actuator with electric motor that is advantageous from power-to-weight ratio and controllability point of view.

Hydrostatic Actuation for Remote Operations in MR Environment
IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, 2020This article presents a novel design and experiment of a system of hydrostatic actuation, transmission network, and control as a research platform for investigating magnetic resonance image (MRI) based tracking and intervention of a moving target. Based on novel double-acting piston-cylinder type rolling diaphragm fluid actuators, the system comprises ...

Computational Model of Hydrostatically Coupled Dielectric Elastomer Actuators
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2012A hydrostatically coupled dielectric elastomer (HCDE) actuator consists of two membranes of a dielectric elastomer, clamped with rigid circular rings. Confined between the membranes is a fixed volume of a fluid, which couples the movements of the two membranes when a voltage or a force is applied.

A new concept for dielectric elastomer actuators: hydrostatic coupling
SPIE Proceedings, 2009So-called dielectric elastomer (DE) actuators represent today one of the best performing technologies for electroactive polymer based actuation. This paper presents the concept for a new of class of DE actuators, with attractive potential capabilities for specific application needs.

Screw pump for Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator that enhances backdrivability
2011 11th IEEE-RAS International Conference on Humanoid Robots, 2011Force sensitivity and backdrivability are vital functionality of actuators to be used in robots that physically interact with humans. Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator (EHA) is a type of a hydraulic actuator with backdrivability. To improve backdrivability of an EHA, reduction of friction, especially static friction is important. This, however, is difficult

Review on electro hydrostatic actuator for flight control
International Journal of Fluid Power, 2016AbstractElectro Hydrostatic Actuator (EHA) is an emerging aerospace technology that aims at replacing centralised hydraulic system by a self-contained and localised direct drive actuator system. EHA has become an important part of modern flight control systems due to the increased efficiency, reduced leakages and lower overall weight compared to ...

Research on the energy-regulation electro-hydrostatic actuator
2016 IEEE Chinese Guidance, Navigation and Control Conference (CGNCC), 2016This paper describes the benefits of the common electro-hydrostatic actuators(EHAs), the substitutes of common hydraulic actuators, and also highlights the motor heating problem. It proposes a energy-regulation EHAs which can not only insulate motor heating status caused by cis-load, but also improve its efficiency.

Design of Self-Compensating Hydrostatic Bearing For Actuators
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2018Self-compensating hydrostatic bearings overcome disadvantages of other types of hydrostatic bearings like need to hand tune the restrictors, high sensitivity to manufacturing errors and also the problem of clogging. In addition they also retain all the benefits of hydrostatic bearings such as very high stiffness and straightness characteristics.

The nonlinearity simulation study on Electrical Hydrostatic Actuator
2012 2nd International Conference on Consumer Electronics, Communications and Networks (CECNet), 2012This paper introduces a new type of actuator, namely Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator (EHA)[1]. According to the engineering, we choose the asymmetric hydraulic cylinder, establish the mathematical model of permanent magnet synchronous motor and EHA, and adopt the MATLAB proceeds to imitate the true research.
