Numerical Modeling of Tank Cars Carrying Hazardous Materials With and Without Composite Metal Foam
Large‐scale puncture models consisting of hazardous materials (HAZMATs) tank car with protective steel–steel composite metal foam (S–S CMF) are solved numerically. Tank car plate with added 10.91–13.33 mm thick S–S CMF layer does not puncture. Protective S–S CMF absorbs impact energy, reduces plate deformation, and prevents shear bands formation ...

Acute effects of postural changes and lower body positive and negative pressure on the eye
Introduction: Entry into weightlessness results in a fluid shift and a loss of hydrostatic gradients. These factors are believed to affect the eye and contribute to the ocular changes that occur in space.

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Effect of Hydrostatic Pressure on the Pitting Corrosion Behavior of 316L Stainless Steel
The pitting corrosion behavior of 316L stainless steel (316L SS) was investigated by electrochemical measurements, nanoindentation and microscopy observation. The experiment results have been analyzed based upon the stochastic theory.

The Circulatory Effects of Increased Hydrostatic Pressure Due to Immersion and Submersion
Increased hydrostatic pressure as experienced during immersion and submersion has effects on the circulation. The main effect is counteracting of gravity by buoyancy, which results in reduced extravasation of fluid.

Presure-Induced Superconducting State of Antiferromagnetic CaFe$_2$As$_2$
The antiferromagnet CaFe$_2$As$_2$ does not become superconducting when subject to ideal hydrostatic pressure conditions, where crystallographic and magnetic states also are well defined.

Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.
