A weakly non-hydrostatic shallow model for dry granular flows
A non-hydrostatic depth-averaged model for dry granular flows is proposed, taking into account vertical acceleration. A variable friction coefficient based on the $\mu(I)$ rheology is considered.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

The Circulatory Effects of Increased Hydrostatic Pressure Due to Immersion and Submersion
Increased hydrostatic pressure as experienced during immersion and submersion has effects on the circulation. The main effect is counteracting of gravity by buoyancy, which results in reduced extravasation of fluid.

Presure-Induced Superconducting State of Antiferromagnetic CaFe$_2$As$_2$
The antiferromagnet CaFe$_2$As$_2$ does not become superconducting when subject to ideal hydrostatic pressure conditions, where crystallographic and magnetic states also are well defined.

Notes on hydrostatic pressure [PDF]
Hydrostatic pressure is one of the most elementary notions encountered in the fields of naval architecture and marine engineering. Its presentation in textbooks is not always clear, however, especially for floating bodies in the presence of waves. This brief article aims to clarify potential elements of confusion about hydrostatic pressure. Atmospheric

Hydrostatic Pressure Sensing by WNK kinases
Previous study has demonstrated that the WNK kinases 1 and 3 are direct osmosensors consistent with their established role in cell-volume control. WNK kinases may also be regulated by hydrostatic pressure. Hydrostatic pressure applied to cells in culture with N2 gas or to Drosophila Malpighian tubules by centrifugation induces phosphorylation of ...

Knowledge‐based atomistic workflows are presented for mechanical and thermodynamic properties. By coupling modular simulations with ontology‐aligned metadata and provenance, Fe case studies on elastic behavior, defects, thermal properties, and Hall–Petch strengthening reveal how FAIR, queryable, and reusable simulation data can be generated. Mechanical

Non-Hydrostatic Galerkin Model with Weighted Average Pressure Profile
This work develops a novel two-dimensional, depth-integrated, non-hydrostatic model for wave propagation simulation using a weighted average non-hydrostatic pressure profile. The model is constructed by modifying an existing non-hydrostatic discontinuous/
