The incubation of primary astrocytes with fAuNCs‐BSA induces: (A) long‐term effects including fAuNCs‐BSA internalization, red cell fluorescence, differentiation, upregulation of Ca2+ signaling, Cl‐current, and cell volume regulation. B) Short‐term (200 ms) stimulation with UV LED light increases in Ca2+ signaling and inhibition of K+ current. Astrocyte

Heterogeneous catalysis has historically been developed in the gas phase, however, we have found it pertinent to highlight solvent effects that must be accounted for in liquid environments. Condensed phase catalysis, like that in biomass, petroleum and the conversion of CO2, stands to benefit from the typically overlooked discussion regarding the ...

Small aromatic ligands are used to synthesize Ni particles between 1 and 4.4 nm. After deposition on various supports, an alkylating agent and subsequent reduction procedure are used to remove the ligands. On SiO2, the Ni particles remained small, but on Al2O3 they sintered severely.

Aluminum-containing Layered Double Hydroxides: the Thermal, Mechanical, and Fire Properties of (Nano)composites of Poly(methyl Methacrylate) [PDF]
Hydrotalcite-like anionic clays or layered double hydroxides (LDHs) of the general formula, [MII1-xMIIIx(OH)2]intra[(CH2=CH(CH2)8COO-)x•nH2O]inter, with MIII = Al and MII = Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn, have been prepared by the co-precipitation method and used to

Geopolymer-hydrotalcite composites for CO2 capture
Supporting or shaping a porous powder is important for industrial applications as optimized structure with high mass transfer, low pressure drop and high mechanical and chemical stability can be obtained. A new class of geopolymer-hydrotalcite composites with suitable mechanical and thermal properties were conceived as shaped materials for CO2 ...

We reported a new kind of organic‐inorganic composite nanomaterial with excellent PA imaging performance after the in situ activation by hydrogen sulfide in colorectal cancer tissues, which was used for precise radiotherapy of colorectal cancer. It shows a great application potential for early diagnosis and treatment of tumor.
