Tin Oxide‐Anchored MXene Composites for Enhanced Hydrogen Evolution in Alkaline Media

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The schematic illustrates a SnO2/MXene heterostructure for efficient hydrogen evolution. SnO2 nanoparticles are uniformly anchored on conductive MXene nanosheets, enhancing charge transfer and catalytic activity. The MXene substrate provides high electrical conductivity and abundant active sites, while SnO2 facilitates water adsorption and dissociation.

RF Magnetron Sputtered Tungsten Disulfide Films: Influence of Target Preparation, Deposition Parameters, and Storage Conditions on Thin Film Stoichiometry

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Sputtered WS2 films were investigated in terms of their S‐ and O‐concentration depending on deposition power and pre‐sputter time. Chemical and structural investigations were done using EDS, TEM, SEM, AFM, XRD. In general, 20 W films exhibit a wide variation in stoichiometry and structure whereas 80 W films demonstrate a higher S/W ratio than 20 W ...

The orientation of intra-arc crustal fault systems influences the copper budget of magmatic-hydrothermal fluids

open access: yesCommunications Earth & Environment
Some of the largest magmatic-hydrothermal copper ore deposits and deposit clusters are associated with arc-oblique fault systems. Whether this structural context impacts the geochemistry of hydrothermal fluids, including their copper contents, remains ...
