Hydrothermal molten salt: A hydrothermal fluid in SCWO treatment of hypersaline wastewater
Chemical Engineering Journal, 2021Abstract A hydrothermal fluid system proposed in this paper is composed of immiscible molten salts and sub-/supercritical water (also named as hydrothermal molten salt, HyMoS). It can avoid salt deposition and equipment blocking in the process of SCWO treatment of hypersaline glyphosate wastewater, which provides an exalting technical idea for ...

Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes by Hydrothermal Treatment
MRS Proceedings, 2000AbstractMultiwall carbon nanotubes have been obtained from carbon soot after hydrothermal treatment at 800°C and 100 MPa. High-resolution electron microscopy (HRTEM) study reveals multiwall carbon nanotubes and carbon nanoparticles made of a hollow core enclosed in well-ordered concentric graphitic layers after hydrothermal treatment.

Faecal sludge treatment and utilization by hydrothermal carbonization
Journal of Environmental Management, 2018Hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) is a thermal conversion process that can be applied to convert faecal sludge into carbonaceous solids, called hydrochar. In this study, the technical feasibility of hydrochar production by HTC of faecal sludge was investigated. Experimental results showed energy contents of the produced hydrochar to be about 19-20 MJ/kg,

Protein recovery from solubilized sludge by hydrothermal treatments
Waste Management, 2017New alternatives for sludge management have been developed in recent years, with hydrothermal treatments being one of the most attractive ones. Even though many studies have been made on the application of hydrothermal treatments as pre-treatment or end-line technologies for sludge stabilisation and/or minimization, there is a lack of knowledge about ...

Hydrothermal treatment and ethanol pulping of sunflower stalks
Bioresource Technology, 2008The influence of temperature in the hydrothermal treatment of sunflower stalks on the composition of the liquid fraction obtained was examined. The remaining solid fraction was subjected to ethanol pulping in order to obtain pulp that was used to produce paper sheets.

Coke Modification Using Hydrothermal Oxidation Treatment
2016Improvement of the coke quality for blast furnace (BF) iron making by hydrothermal oxidation treatment on coke quality was investigated. Results show that, under subcritical condition, sulfur removal rate is 15% and the weight loss is 3%; under supercritical condition, both sulfur removal rate and mass loss rate increase with the increase of H2O2 ...

Degradation pathways of decabromodiphenyl ether during hydrothermal treatment
Chemosphere, 2007The hydrothermal degradation pathways of decabromodiphenyl ether during hydrothermal treatment were investigated. After an initial "Heating time", the reaction runs were carried out at constant temperature (heating to 300 degrees C and keeping temperature) and pressure (8MPa) in a SUS316 stainless steel micro autoclave filled with water.

Reaction Kinetics of the Hydrothermal Treatment of Lignin
Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2007Lignins derived from abundant and renewable resources are nontoxic and extremely versatile in performance, qualities that have made them increasingly important in many industrial applications. We have shown recently that liquefaction of lignin extracted from aspen wood resulted in a 90% yield of liquid. In this paper, the hydrothermal treatment of five

Municipal incineration bottom ash treatment using hydrothermal solidification
Waste Management, 2007Solidification of municipal incineration bottom ash (MIBA) has been carried out using a hydrothermal processing method, in which the MIBA was first compacted in a mold at 5-20 MPa, and then hydrothermally cured in an autoclave under saturated steam pressure at 150-250 degrees C for 10-72 h.

Effect of Hydrothermal Treatment on Alumina Sol.
