Mass spectrometry of partially methylated alditol acetates derived from hydroxyethyl starch

Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 2000
The degradation and derivatization of hydroxyethyl starch to partially methylated alditol acetates (PMAAs) allows its detection by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The derivatization was performed by permethylation of the carbohydrate, hydrolysis of the permethylated polysaccharide, reduction of the resulting monosaccharides to alditoles and ...

Effects of Hydroxyethyl Starch, Gelatin and Dextran on Endothelium-Derived Relaxation in Porcine Coronary Arteries

Pharmacology, 2010
Background: In a pilot study we could show that hydroxyethyl starch (HES) induced a significant reduction of endothelium-dependent relaxation (EDR) and the endothelium-derived hyperpolarizing factor (EDHF). In this follow-up study we investigated whether this effect of HES was dose-dependent and whether it could be replicated with ...

Synthesis of hydroxyethyl starch derivatives with phenylpropanoid fragments attached through ester or sulfide bonds

Russian Chemical Bulletin, 2014
Approaches to the synthesis of hydroxyethyl starch derivatives containing phenylpropanoic acid fragments with various degree of substitution were suggested. Esterification of hydroxyethyl starch in heterogeneous aqueous organic medium gave rise to the corresponding esters of ferulic, p-coumaric, and sinapinic acids.

Synthesis of esters of 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylphenol carboxy-containing derivatives with hydroxyethyl starch

Russian Chemical Bulletin, 2014
Esters based on 2,6-diisobornylphenol carboxy-containing derivatives and hydroxyethyl starch were synthesized in order to obtain water-soluble forms of pharmacologically active substance 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylphenol. Esterification of phenolcarboxylic acid derivatives with the polysaccharide was accomplished in heterogeneous aqueous organic medium or

Antrachinon-triazine derivatives of polysaccharides, affinity of bovine heart lactate dehydrogenase to Cibacron Blue derivatives of water-soluble dextran fractions and hydroxyethyl-starches

Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 1984
The interaction of lactate dehydrogenase with high-molecular-weight derivatives of Cibacron Blue was followed by measuring the reaction kinetics and by means of affinity electrophoresis. The dye was covalently bound to dextrans with relative molecular mass ranging from 5 000 to 2 000 000 and to hydroxyethyl-starches with relative molecular mass from ...

Effect of intravenous administration of hydroxyethyl-starch-deferoxamine on oxygen-derived free radical generation in cancellous bone specimens obtained from dogs

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1994
Summary The ability of iv administered hydroxyethyl-starch-deferoxamine to attenuate radical production in freshly procured cancellous bone specimens was investigated, using spin-trapping and electron spin resonance (esr) techniques. A core cancellous bone specimen 10 mm long and 5.6 mm in diameter was obtained, using aseptic technique, from the ...

SCID‐repopulating activity of human umbilical cord blood–derived hematopoietic stem and/or progenitor cells in a nonobese diabetic/Shi‐SCID mice serial xenotransplantation model and immune cell activities in vitro: a comparative study of the filter method and the hydroxyethyl starch method

Transfusion, 2005
BACKGROUND: A novel filter system was developed for umbilical cord blood (UCB) volume reduction. The aim of this study was to compare the functions of cryopreserved UCB cells processed by the filter and by the hydroxyethyl starch (HES) sedimentation method from the aspect of the graft quality.STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS: UCB specimens were divided into ...
