New methacrylate-containing derivatives of hydroxyethyl starch

Russian Journal of General Chemistry, 2016
Modification of hydroxyethyl starch with glycidyl methacrylate in dimethylsulfoxide medium has resulted in the formation of the derivatives containing double C=C bonds capable of producing biocompatible hydrogels via the free-radical cross-linking.

The isolation of 1,2-o-ethylene derivatives of d-glucose from o-(2-hydroxyethyl)starch

Carbohydrate Research, 1970
Abstract Acid hydrolysis of a commercial sample of O -(2-hydroxyethyl)starch (D.S., 0.1) gave, in addition to the expected 2- O -, 3- O -, and 6- O -(2-hydroxyethyl)- d -glucoses, three isomeric anhydro derivatives of 2- O -(2-hydroxyethyl)- d -glucose ( 1 ).

Development and characterization of amphiphilic hydroxyethyl starch derivatives

Journal of Dispersion Science and Technology, 2016
ABSTRACTNovel amphiphilic hydroxyethyl starch derivatives 2,4-bistertbutylphenoxy-[1,3,5] -triazine-6-yl)-hydroxyethyl starch with different degrees of substitution of hydrophilic triazine group and hydrophobic hydroxyethyl were prepared by reacting corn starch with chlorohydrin and 2,4-Ditertbutyl phenoxyl-6-chloro-[1,3,5]-triazine, successively ...

Maize‐ or potato‐derived hydroxyethyl starches: is there any thromboelastometric difference?

Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, 2010
Background: Hydroxyethyl starches (HES) could differ with regard to the origin, and the influence on the coagulation of the raw material is unknown. This study compared the effects of a new potato‐derived HES with a maize‐derived HES and two crystalloid solutions. Methods: Whole blood from 10 healthy individuals was diluted by 20% and 40% using either

[Comparison of hydroxyethyl starch solutions derived from potato and corn starch] .

Anasthesiologie, Intensivmedizin, Notfallmedizin, Schmerztherapie : AINS, 2001
The study was designed to investigate the effects of hydroxyethyl starch (HES) solutions derived from potato (p) compared to HES derived from corn (c) starch on the colloidosmotic pressure, plasma viscosity, and to measure the plasma and urine concentration. After approval by the Ethics Committee, and having obtained informed consent, we recruited 20 ...

Hydroxyethyl derivatives of the amylopectin starch from waxy maize

Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 1975
A gas-liquid chromatographic method has been used for analyzing the degree of substitution of a number of samples of hydroxyethylated partially hydrolyzed amylopection starch. A new method of plotting a calibration graph differing from that used previously is proposed.

Hydroxyethyl Starch Inhibits Endothelium-Derived Relaxation in Porcine Coronary Arteries

Pharmacology, 2008
Objective: Hydroxyethyl starch (HES) solutions are widely used for fluid resuscitation. We studied the effects of HES on endothelium-dependent relaxation (EDR), especially on the endothelium-derived hyperpolarizing factor (EDHF). Methods: Four-millimeter-long rings of fresh porcine coronary arteries from the local ...
