Degradation properties of magnesium oxychloride bone cement composite modified by hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and KH2PO4

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
In this study, we report the effects of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) and KH2PO4 on the water resistance of magnesium oxychloride cement (MOC), a novel bone cement composite. Different MOC samples were soaked in simulated body fluid (SBF).

Climate Driven Water Table Changes and Their Influence on Liquefaction Response of Integral Bridges

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 55, Issue 13, Page 3285-3301, 25 October 2026.
ABSTRACT Integral abutment bridges (IABs) eliminate bearings and joints but transfer seismic demand directly into the surrounding soil, making their response highly sensitive to groundwater conditions and soil–structure interaction. This study presents a 60 g centrifuge testing programme on single‐span IABs designed to isolate the influence of water ...

From in vitro studies to product information useful for patients: Evaluation of physical properties and the stability of nasal spray devices containing hydroxypropyl methylcellulose-based liquid and powder formulations

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC)-based formulations are commonly used in nasal sprays due to their gelling and viscosity-enhancing properties. However, data on in vitro studies that mimic patient use remain limited.

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 78, 28 September 2026.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

The Influence of Viscosity and Non-freezing Water Contents Bounded to Different Hydroxypropyl Celluloses (HPC) and Hydroxypropyl Methylcelluloses (HPMC) on Stability of Acetylsalicylic Acid [PDF]

open access: yesAAPS PharmSciTech, 2019
The aim of the study was to examine the influence of non-freezing water (NFW) contents bound to hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) or hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) binary mixtures using acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) as a model moisture-sensitive ingredient.

Development and in vitro evaluation of sustained release multiparticulate tablet of freely water soluble drug

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2010
Blends of aqueous dispersion of a hydrophobic and hydrophilic polymer, namely Surelease®: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (Surelease®: HPMC E15) were used as coating materials to control the drug release from coated pellets of the highly water soluble drug

Roll‐to‐Roll Processable EC/TC Hybrid Smart Windows Driven by a Bidirectional Dual‐Chromic Polymer Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 78, 28 September 2026.
We present a scalable EC/TC hybrid smart window using a DCPE that enables tunable solar modulation (ΔTsol:15–43%), fast electrochromic switching (<90 s), and strong thermal blocking (10–14°C reduction). HPMC improves thermal stability, while an optimized ISL enhances EC performance.

Development of Co-processed Paracetamol with Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) and Maltodextrin by Wet Granulation Process [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Drug Design and Medicinal Chemistry, 2019
The purpose of this work is to improve one of the important physicochemical properties of an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), as is the water solubility of paracetamol. To improve the physicochemical properties of this API, two pharmaceutical excipients such as the HPMC and maltodextrin were used, which help to improve the solubility, and this ...
