Distant Transport of Antimicrobial Protection by Implantable Polymeric Meshes

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 5, May 2026.
A computational model is developed to elucidate the mechanisms governing the interaction between polymeric meshes and drug elution in implantable devices. The model is validated through extensive in vitro and in vivo testing showing its ability to capture the key phenomena underlying drug distribution over time and space.

Light‐Modulated Humidity Sensing in Spiropyran Functionalized MoS2 Transistors

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
A hybrid material combining molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) and spiropyran for humidity and light responsiveness is developed. Ultraviolete (UV) irradiation tunes the wettability of MoS2 decorated by spiropyran, enhancing the humidity sensitivity. Water adsorption and photochromic doping significantly alter the optoelectronic properties of MoS2 flakes ...

Biomass Polymer‐Stabilized Hygroscopic Salts in Cellulose Foams for Durable Atmospheric Water Harvesting

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 9, 8 May 2026.
We fabricate a LiCl+CMC@cellulose composite foam via a scalable impregnation process, enabling excellent AWH water capture‐release cycling stability. The CMC acts as a “molecular glue,” effectively mitigating salt aggregation and leakage. The composite foam delivers a high water uptake of 16.04 ± 0.82 g g−1 with >80% retention over 10 cycles, while a ...

Highly Transparent BiEDOT‐Based Conducting Polymers as Tailorable Hole Transport Materials for Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
In situ polymerization of BiEDOT within a PMMA matrix produces a highly transparent conducting polymer network that functions as a tunable hole‐transport material, improving interfacial energetics and photovoltaic performance in p–i–n perovskite solar cells.

Separating Source and Precipitation Effects on Cloud and Rain Pollution Concentrations on Mount Washington, NH

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Precipitation processes are critical for removing pollutants from the atmosphere, yet in many mid‐latitude continental regions, the effects of rainout are difficult to distinguish from the broader influence of atmospheric transport. In this study, we analyze 582 cloud and rain samples collected during summers 1996–2014 from Mount Washington ...

Radiative Forcing and Ozone Depletion of a Decade of Satellite Megaconstellation Missions

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Satellite megaconstellations (SMCs) are driving rapid increases in rocket launch and re‐entry rates, emitting pollutants throughout the atmosphere. The environmental impact of SMCs lacks characterization to determine the need for regulation. We utilize a global 3D emission inventory of recent (2020–2022) space activity that distinguishes SMC ...
