Hygrothermal ageing of reprocessed polylactide [PDF]
The influence of an accelerated hygrothermal ageing simulation test on a commercial PLA and its three subsequent mechanically-reprocessed materials was studied. The analysis was focused on the water diffusion kinetics and the physico-chemical changes induced by the hygrothermal degradation.

Hygrothermal aging of polyimide matrix composite laminates [PDF]
Two polyimide-matrix systems were subjected to a series of hygrothermal aging experiments at various temperatures and relative humidities. For each aging condition, we measured the microcracking fracture toughness as a function of aging time. The toughness decreased with time. The rate of decrease increased with temperature and relative humidity.

Fuel cell rejuvenation of hygrothermally aged Nafion® [PDF]
Abstract Nafion ® membranes stored for long periods at 80 °C under elevated relative humidity up to 95%RH exhibit large modifications of their properties attributed to the sulfonic acid end-group condensation into sulfonic anhydrides. The present study is devoted to the membrane property rejuvenation, namely the hydrolysis of the sulfonic anhydrides

Accelerated Hygrothermal Aging of Bond in FRP–Masonry Systems [PDF]
AbstractThis paper addresses the results of accelerated hygrothermal (coupled temperature and moisture) tests on fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) strengthened clay bricks, aimed at investigating bond degradation mechanisms. The exposures are selected to simulate different environmental conditions and the bond degradation is periodically investigated by ...
