A new species of Onnia (Hymenochaetales, Basidiomycota) from Vietnam

A new species, Onnia kesiya, is described from South Vietnam on the basis of morphological characteristics and molecular phylogenetic evidence. It is characterized by distinct lateral stipe, relatively thin and duplex context, hooked hymenial setae, widest basidiospores among Onnia species, and grows on Pinus kesiya in tropical pine forest.

New Poroid Hymenochaetaceae (Basidiomycota, Hymenochaetales) from Chile

Fomitiporia chilensis and Phylloporia boldo are described as new poroid species in the Hymenochaetaceae based on morphological, cultural, ecological, and phylogenetic analyses. Fomitiporia chilensis pertains to the Fomitiporia punctata species complex, being related to its Neotropical taxa.

Phellinotus, a new neotropical genus in the Hymenochaetaceae (Basidiomycota, Hymenochaetales)

A new poroid genus with two conspicuous and common species growing on living Fabaceae trees is described from the Seasonally Dry Tropical Forests biome of Brazil. Both taxa in this forest pathogen genus resemble Phellinus rimosus macroscopically, but are distinguished by a dimitic hyphal system with skeletal hyphae present only in the trama of the tube

Phellinopsis, a recently proposed genus, differs from other genera in Hymenochaetaceae in having setae arising from tramal hyphae and hyaline basidiospores that become pale yellowish with age. The monophyly of 11 taxa, including seven from China, was strongly supported in our phylogeny of ITS sequences.
